Ben Farr is an assistant professor of physics at the University of Oregon. As a member of the LIGO-Virgo Collaboration, he co-develops the parameter estimation software used to characterize compact binary mergers from their gravitational wave signatures. He is interested in applying Bayesian forward-modeling techniques to astronomical data sets.
